Abstract:
In this presentation the set up of the equations for the electromagnetic scalar potential and the vector potential are presented in the transient regime. The treatment of interface conditions and boundary conditions as well as the selection of the gauge condition are discussed. It is demonstrated that the proposed system is numerically robust, i.e. the default Newton-Raphson and iterative linear solvers are capable of finding the solution. The robustness is demonstrated by simulating switching behavior of on-chip inductors.
