Abstract:

The properties of distant galaxies are essential to our understanding of the early Universe. But these objects are extremely faint, hence difficult to study. We have carried out a search of high-z galaxies in the field of clusters. The gravitational lensing effect makes it possible to study amplified field sources at z~6-8. In the near future, JWST will enable us to study objects at much younger cosmic age. However, deep infrared surveys are needed to find suitable candidates for JWST. I will briefly discussion several survey projects.

Coffee and tea will be served 20 minutes prior to the seminar.
