Abstract:

The massive star formation processes have not been well understood compared to the low mass star formation cases. The main reason is that the massive star forming sites are located farther away (> 1-2 kpc) from us in general and the region is too complicated to understand. We expect that astrochemistry will provide an important tool to understand this heavily obscured and complicated but exciting phenomenon.

Using the SMA (Submillimeter Array), we have observed massive star-forming regions W75N and DR21(OH) located in the Cygnus-X North region and detected a few hundred molecular line emissions. We introduce the interesting chemical properties newly found in these star-forming regions.

Coffee and tea will be served 20 minutes prior to the seminar.
