Announcement
We are pleased to announce that "Hong Kong Forum of Physics 2010: Novel Quantum States and Methods" will be held at the University of Hong Kong, Dec. 17-19, 2010.
Hong Kong Forum has been held annually since 2006. Information about previous Forums may be found here. In this year's Forum, we will focus on novel quantum states and methods, which will cover several frontier topics including cuprate and pnictide superconductivity, spintronics and topological states, graphene, ultra cold atoms, and most recent developments on the methods to study these frontier topics. We expect to have several dozens of physicists from the US, Europe, mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong to participate in the Forum, and tens of students or postdoctoral fellows from Hong Kong and Mainland China to attend the Forum. We hope this Forum will promote collaborations among the physicists in Asia and in the West, and hope this Forum will also present to young physicists interesting and exciting research directions based on the intellectual merit.
There will be a ceremony event to award the Daniel Tsui Fellowship, sponsored by Center of Theoretical and Computational Physics and the Department of Physics at the University of Hong Kong, in honor of the Center's Honorary Director, Nobel laureate Prof. Daniel Tsui.
You are welcome to apply for the participation of the Forum. More information including the registration can be found here, and you may contact with the Forum secretary, Ms. Qianying Fang at qyfang@hku.hk for further information.
Sincerely yours,
Fu-Chun Zhang
