Venue Room 522, 5/F, Chong Yuet Ming Physics Building, The University of Hong Kong

Abstract

Perovskite solar cells(PSCs) have gained widespread attention as a material with outstanding photoelectric properties in the past decade, and inverted p-i-n PSCs have surpassed the efficiency of n-i-p solar cells, become the focus of research.

This seminar exhibits the advantages of inverted PSC from high reproducibility, material stability to high efficiency. Based on this structure, the type and location of the defect state in the devices as well as how it is formed follows. These defects will result in high non-radiative recombination, charge transport issues and stability degradation.

After that various methods for passivating these defects is explored. For bulk defects, composition engineering as well as additives engineering is recognized and effective methods, including NH4SCN, redox agent... For interface modification for surface defects, it could be discussed from the top surface and bottom surface respectively. Bottom surface modifications include the use of dopants and additives to improve the hole transport layer (NiOx), while top surface modifications involve techniques to form 2D/3D perovskite and adjust energy level alignment using cations like PEA and BDA.

By XRD, SEM, J-V curves, the effectiveness of different passivation strategies are demonstrated, which can provide support for finding more suitable passivation scheme (high Voc, high Jsc and high stability) in the future.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
