Abstract

With the continuous miniaturization of electronic integrated functional devices, other effects such as quantum transport, competition between the energy loss and the integration density show up. Alternative means including quantum computing and spintronics are explored for future electronics. The electron spin can be used as an information carrier, which has low operation energy, high speed and novel quantum properties. It may bring a new generation of an electronic information revolution, where one wants to inject spin currents, transfer and manipulate the spin information at the Fermi energy, and detect the resulting spin polarization in non-magnetic metals and semiconductors.  Recently, many quantum materials were discovered or proposed for spintronics as well as topological quantum computing, whereas there are few experimental demonstrations. I propose to study spin transport based on quantum materials for both spintronics and quantum computing using non-local spin valve structures.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
