Abstract
Since 2011, S.Ghimire et al. first observe the high harmonic generation (HHG) from ZnO [1], HHG from solid become a rapidly growing field. It has been established as a promising source for Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) radiation [1], moreover, it could be a powerful probe for various materials properties such as band structure [2], symmetry [3], and Berry phases [4]. In contrast, the study of phonon and lattice dynamics with HHG spectroscopy is rarely reported [5]. The most important reason is that the phonon effect in many lattice unit cells would counteract. However, the situation should be different in the pump-probe HHG experiments where the coherent phonon is excited. In our research, we aim to reveal the phonon dynamics in solids with pump-probe HHG experiments. Compared to the traditional ultrafast spectroscopy, the carrier-envelope-phase sensitivity of HHG could help to have time resolution well below the laser pulse duration [6]. In addition, to understand the phonon dynamics extracted from pump-probe HHG spectroscopy, theoretical simulation methods such as semiconductor Bloch equations are employed in our study.
