Abstract

Wireless power transfer is achieved via strongly coupling or PT symmetry and so on, which provide attractive opportunities for flexible control of light and energy. Here, we theoretically demonstrate the realization of full power transfer by zero-index media, that is to say, the receiver and source are surrounded by zero-index media.  Interestingly, the full power transfer is independent of the size and shape of this zero-index medium, as well as the position of the receiver and source. This exceptional property can be well explained via the photonic doping theory for zero-index media. Moreover, we demonstrate that the doping scheme also enables novel ways to control absorption, such as multiple receivers, etc. This work proposes a unique doping approach for advanced perfect power transfer with versatile control functionalities.
