Abstract

In recent years, with the development of nanofabrication techniques, much of the effort in nonlinear optics has shifted towards the nonlinear optical processes in miniaturized optical elements. Naturally, researchers have been interested in nonlinear optical properties of metasurfaces due to their ultra-thin thickness and excellent performance in manipulating light. In addition, nonlinear hybrid metasurfaces have been proposed for enhancing the nonlinear response, such as Au/PFO metasurfaces, Au/multiple quantum well (MQW) metasurfaces and Au/transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) monolayers. In this seminar, I will share the modulation theory of nonlinear hybrid metasurfaces like control of the phase and polarization of nonlinear light, and discuss some problems in current field.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
