Abstract

The potential of halide perovskites as thermoelectric materials have attracted rising attention in recent years. Its ultra-low thermal conductivity makes it possible to give a superior figure of merit (ZT) as a class of solution-processed thermoelectric materials.

This study will show some new research results on both 3D and 2D halide perovskites, such as MAPbBr3 (3D), BA2PbBr4 (Ruddlesden-Popper phase), and BDAPbBr4 (Dion–Jacobson phase). Compared to the 3D halide perovskites, 2D perovskites show the potential of a higher Seebeck coefficient and even lower thermal conductivity, which is of great significance for improving thermoelectric performance.

The thermoelectric properties of halide perovskite materials with different organic spacers are also explored in this study and the mechanism behind the ultra-low thermal conductivity will also be discussed, which may result from the suppression of phonon conduction by the two-dimensional layered structure. Besides, solutions to some common issues that occur during the characterization in the research of this field will be provided.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
