Abstract
A new category of transients named Fast Blue Optical Transient (FBOT) was created recently, with characteristic rise time faster than typical supernovae. Multiple models were proposed to explain the origin of FBOT, one of which consist of a tidal disruption event (TDE). AT2018cow, being one of the few, was discovered recently. The dynamical features of this event allow us to constrain the black hole to be an IMBH with mass ∼1e4M. With that information, the luminosity observed is 100 times the Eddington limit, which poses a serious doubt on the TDE origin hypothesis. Therefore, we aim to test if it is possible to reach the desired luminosity with the accretion rate possibly achieved in this event using the 3D GRRMHD code. We have currently achieved simulation with accretion disk that has luminosity up to 90 times Eddington limit, and are working towards further increasing the resolution of the simulation.
