Abstract

Two-dimensional (2D) materials like graphene, black phosphorene, transitional metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), and intrinsic ferromagnetic materials, etc., have attracted significant interests due to their novel physical properties, such as quantum spin Hall effect(QSHE), quantum anomalous Hall effect(QAHE), topological semimetal(TSM) and light emitting etc. These novel features have potential application in spintronics device and topological quantum computation. Up to now, lots of two-dimensional QSHE were predicted, but only a few systems like Sb(111) thin films, monolayer WTe2 and Bismuthene on SiC were experimentally observed. Most of them are unstable and easy to be oxidized in the air at room temperature. These drawbacks hinder the application in practice. Beyond two-dimensional QSHE, an intrinsic system with QAHE has not been found which is believed to host QAHE at higher temperature compared with Cr-doped Bi2Se3. Thus, findingstabletwo-dimensional materials with high performance is good way to support investigating physical properties and related practical applications.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
