Abstract

When an asteroid or comet impacts the surface of a solid planetary body, it creates a circular depression called impact crater. Conversely, by studying the morphology and spatial distribution of impact craters, we can obtain various geological information and trace back the impact history of the solar system. In this talk, I will briefly introduce the impact cratering on several outer solar system bodies (especially Jovian and Saturnian satellites) and the related implications.

Coffee and tea will be served 20 minutes prior to the seminar.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
