Venue Rm 522, 5/F, Chong Yuet Ming Physics Building, HKU

Abstract

Organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite solar cells have attracted tremendous interest over the last five years due to the excellent optoelectronic properties of this type of materials. The recorded photoelectron conversion efficiency has achieved over 20%. However, the stability of the perovskite solar cells remains big challenge, hindering the potential commercial application. Device architectures and interfacial layersselection in the perovskite solar cell have huge impact on the stability as well as efficiency. During my PhD, I will focus on the tailoring of interfacial layers to understand the degradation mechanism and improve the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells. In this seminar, I will briefly introduce the background of perovskite solar cells, the development and the remaining problems. Then, I will present my preliminary results of replacing PEDOT:PSS layer which contributes to better stability with Cs:NiOx layer in an inverted planar perovskite solar cell. This resulted in high efficiencies, stable devices. Finanly, future work will be outlined.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
