Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) materials are of great research interest to researchers lately due to superior transport and optical properties. Many novel 2D structures show promising applications in theoretical prediction, which is followed by experimentalist’s efforts of realization and characterizations. In experimental exploration, in particular of new structure study, theoretical calculations would also help to identify the explored structure, to understand growth procedure and to explain observed properties. We would like to employ density functional theory (DFT) combined with MBE growth and STM characterization to explore novel 2D structures.
