Abstract
It was recently found that the formation probabilities of α particles in Te isotopes are larger than the corresponding probabilities in Po isotopes. We have done a full microscopic calculation within the framework of the multistep shell model to analyze in detail the formation probabilities and subsequent decays of α particles from 212Po and 104Te. The calculated spectra of these two decaying nuclei will be presented, which in 104Te was calculated for the first time. It will be shown that the evaluated formation amplitudes in both nuclei indicate that in 104Te there is indeed a superallowed α-decay transition.
Coffee and tea will be served 20 minutes prior to the seminar.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
