Abstract
The recent huge increase of interests in 2-dimensional (2D) van der Waals materials attracts our attention to a special class of materials: 2D van der Waals magnets. In this talk, I will briefly review our work on various 2D magnetic materials. These include halides, chalcogenides, thiophosphates and selenophosphates, which are cleavable and most are electrically insulating. Special attention will be given to our recent effort on 2D magnets with high ordering temperatures (Tc) for room temperature devices.
Coffee and tea will be served 20 minutes prior to the seminar.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
