Abstract

Theoretical proposals and experimental realizations of Weyl semimetal recently inspire the exploration of its novel properties, and transport property is one of the main issue need to be addressed. By constructing a time reversal Weyl semimetal model, we want to explore its transport properties under the effect of disorder using the surface Green's function technique as well as the finite size scaling method. The Anderson model of disordered system exhibits metal-insulator transition in 3D, and disorder plays important and interesting role in topological insulators. By the finite size scaling theory mentioned above, we want to locate the metal-insulator transition point of this time reversal Weyl semimetal model, and get more information of disorder on the transport properties and surface states. At the same time, we care about the effect of disorder on other physical quantities such as conductance and density of states etc., which will work as the other evidences of the phase transition. As to the outcomes of this research, we may locate the critical transition point clearly, which can give us better understanding of the properties of the Weyl semimetal and may also suggestions for experiments.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
