Abstract

Doing scientific research is a skill. Writing down your results in a good scientific paper and getting published is a different skill. Jan Willem Wijnen (Executive Publisher Elsevier) will give a presentation about the publication process.

Jan Willem Wijnen, will provide insight into the publishing process and explain the fundamental components and guidelines that authors should adhere to in preparing manuscripts and submitting them to scientific journals for publication. The workshop will outline the organization of a scientific journal, and explain the peer-review process in detail. The correct way to write a paper and the most common mistakes made by authors is described. It will also reveal what editors are looking for when selecting papers to publish, and the main reasons for editors to reject a paper. Finally advice is given how to attract readers and citations to your paper. This workshop will teach attendees the Do's and Don'ts of getting published and will help you in getting your papers published in the best journals.
