Workshop Description:

  • This workshop introduces Monte Carlo methods to current and prospect physical scientists.

  • This workshop is useful for beginning postgraduates or current undergraduates intending to do research in physics.
  • This workshop aims at introducing the following concepts:
      ~ Mathematical Foundations of Monte Carlo Method;
      ~ Random Number Generation;
      ~ Monte Carlo Integration;
      ~ Principles of Monte Carlo Method;
      ~ Importance Sampling;
      ~ Metropolis Algorithm;
      ~ Swendsen-Wang Algorithm;
      ~ Wang-Landau Algorithm;
      ~ Variational Monte Carlo;
      ~ Diffusion Monte Carlo;
      ~ Green's function Monte Carlo;
      ~ Path Integral Monte Carlo (Worm Algorithm).
      ~ Registered participants will receive the complete notes for this workshop.
