Abstract
The first part of the talk will briefly introduce the ideas of gravitational wave and its basic properties. The second half of the talk will focus on the recent detection of gravitational waves with LIGO and discuss the physical implications.
Knowledge of general relativity is not assumed. It is aimed at all physics undergraduate students.
