Announcement

The 3rd China/US Workshop on Novel Superconductors will be held at the University of Hong Kong, January 23-27, 2013. Nearly 40 scientists from both the China and US sides will attend the Workshop. Initiated by Dr. Harold Weinstock from US Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and Prof. Zhongxian Zhao from National Lab for Superconductivity, Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, the 1st China/US Workshop was held in Beijing, September 26-29, 2010, followed by the 2nd one in Santa Barbara, California, December 11-16, 2011. The Workshop aims to promote scientific exchange and foster collaborations between Chinese and US scientists in searching for novel superconductors.

A China/US Joint Winter School will be held this year right before the Workshop, January 19-23, 2013. Ten lectures will be given and nearly 40 graduate students/postdocs are expected to attend. The winter school will help educate young scientists and help foster greater cooperation in seeking new and more useful superconductors.
