Abstract

The idea of quantum computation has been around for decades. Since 1982, when Richard Feynman first proposed the idea, different theories and algorithm has been developed, including perhaps the most famous Shor's algorithm. Shor's algorithm can effectively factorize large integers, which was generally regarded as an insurmountable task in classical computer. Due to its potential, tech companies and nations began racing to build the first quantum computer since then. Making use of the properties of superposition and entanglement, quantum mechanics opens up the possibilities to speed up the problem-solving in computers. In the seminar, the recent development of quantum machine learning algorithms will be discussed.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
